Forrest Frantz: The Greening of Scandinavia

Volume 3.5

The four tenets of consensus climate theory are: (1) Increasing CO2 harms the environment. (2) Increasing CO2 causes warming. (3) Increasing CO2 destabilizes climate. And (4), The harmful effects last hundreds of years so, we must act now. In science, there are four roles for people: theorist, scientist, technician/engineer, and philosopher. It is the role of theorists to develop theory (sometimes via consensus) so that it can be tested. It is the role of the scientist to apply the scientific method to test theories imagined by theorists. The scientific method is based on confirmation via “observation.” So here, the first tenet of climate theory, that increasing CO2 harms the environment, is tested via observations of environmental quality.
